RIFFER 4.0.2 - LINUX x86-64 TESTER INSTALLER
Audiomodern | Build 202610261635 | Source 84bde7ba

INSTALL
Extract this ZIP, open a terminal in the extracted folder, then run:

    bash Riffer-4.0.2-Linux-x86_64.run

Run as your normal desktop user, without sudo. Close Riffer and your audio
hosts before installing or upgrading. Confirm the installation when prompted.
Graphical dialogs are available when launched without a terminal if Zenity
and a display are available; otherwise use the terminal command above.

Includes Standalone, VST3 and CLAP with 300 factory presets plus Zero State.
The standalone is always installed because plugins use it for isolated
instrument scanning, even if only VST3 or CLAP is selected.
No compiler, installation download or administrator password is needed.
Normal license activation requires internet access and a valid Riffer 4 key.
This build includes the explicit authorization User-Agent fix; successful
activation on the tester's Linux system still needs verification.

REQUIREMENTS
64-bit Intel/AMD Linux with glibc 2.35 or newer and libstdc++ providing
GLIBCXX_3.4.30 or newer. Built on Ubuntu 22.04 x86-64.
Python 3, Bash, tar, gzip, sha256sum and ldd are needed for installation.
Runtime libraries include ALSA, libcurl, FreeType, Fontconfig and X11
(X11, Xext, Xinerama, Xrandr, Xcursor), plus their distribution dependencies.
Use X11 or XWayland under Wayland. Allow at least 1 GB free space for
extraction, installation and an upgrade backup. Graphical dialogs need Zenity.
ARM Linux, 32-bit Linux and musl-based distributions are not supported.
The installer reports missing libraries; install them through your distribution
package manager. It does not install or replace system libraries.

UPGRADES AND UNINSTALL
Existing files replaced by an upgrade, including the earlier 4.0.2 tester
build, are backed up outside the plugin folders under:
    ~/.local/share/audiomodern/riffer4-installer/backups/
Backups remain after uninstall and can be removed manually when no longer needed.

Uninstall with:
    "$HOME/.local/bin/riffer4-uninstall"

Only files installed by this installer and unchanged since installation are
removed. Modified files are preserved and reported. User presets, settings,
licenses, projects, unrelated plugins and upgrade backups are not deleted.
If interrupted by power loss, keep in-progress.json and backups and contact
support. Caught installation failures are rolled back automatically.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS
This is a tester release. Physical audio/MIDI, real DAW routing, activation
and KDE/Wayland behavior still require user testing. Other reported Linux UI,
MIDI mapping, undo and playback issues are not fixed by this installer.
